If you have ever been pregnant, or you are pregnant now then you’ll know that maternity clothing can be a bit of a nightmare. Over recent years a few retailers have stepped up to the mark in order to offer a decent range of maternity clothing, but there still aren’t as many options as there should be.
Your Changing Body
If you are pregnant then one thing you should be prepared for is the changes that your body is going to go through. As well as gaining a baby bump your body will grow and change shape in many different ways – which is why it is essential that you invest in a few maternity options, so that you have a range of comfortable clothing to wear.
You will find that some items in your wardrobe you’ll get away with throughout your pregnancy – stretchy items, leggings, oversized items can all be adapted to wear throughout pregnancy. However it is more fitted and rigid items such as jeans that you’ll need to buy new versions of, if you want to wear them for the duration of your pregnancy.
Choosing The Right Maternity Jeans
If you shop around then you should find that there are some options out there when it comes to maternity jeans. The great thing about maternity jeans is that they have been designed for this exact reason – this means that you don’t have to just size up in items to make them work for you or wear items baggy. Instead you can wear high quality, fitted denim jeans no matter what stage of pregnancy you are at.
One option can be to go for underbelly maternity jeans. These have been designed for the waistband to fit under the belly, so it does not cut across your pregnancy bump. There is no problem with wearing clothes across the bump but many people find this is uncomfortable. If that is the case for you then underbelly jeans could be the best option for you.
If you prefer a skinny jean fit then you can go for these too. These are often designed with an elasticed waist band and often with an extra pouch of material to give your stomach a little more support.
Of course the type of maternity jean you buy is very much a personal preference, you just need to shop around and look at the options in order to ensure that whatever style you buy they are the right choice for you.
